TabSweep Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 June 2026

TabSweep does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.

The extension runs entirely on your device. Your settings and your allowlist are saved only in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leave your computer. TabSweep makes no network requests of any kind and contains no analytics or tracking. It works fully offline.

What the permissions are used for

The browser permissions TabSweep requests are used solely to detect when a site's last tab closes and to delete that site's cookies and locally-stored data on your machine:

No broad website access

TabSweep does not request broad access to all websites at install. Access to an individual site — needed only to clear that site's cookies — is requested just-in-time when you choose to enable it, and can be revoked at any time. The permissions are never used to read page content or to send data anywhere.

Data we collect

None. TabSweep keeps only local counters of how many cleanups it has run (per site) so it can show you that number. These stay on your machine and are never transmitted.

TabSweep is open source under the MIT license and is not affiliated with Cookie AutoDelete or its authors.
